I do not smell the fragrance of the Jasmine, climbs my wall
its vacant bouquet shyly yet to bloom,
reminds me of the summers spent in rest, I do recall

waits patiently as seasons come and go,
I dream beyond the quarters of your soul, that's where I'm home
upon my brow those western winds still blow.


I'm not ashamed to run my eyes on drifting clouds that flower,
nor bury in my bosom thoughts of you,
my judgment only brightens on the sunsets lasting hour
then day may die as dreams so often do.


I know the earth is rising, as does love drive out my core
each exhalation freely leaves my lips,
but the aching in my wanting keeps me always wanting more
so such love cascades in showery waning drips.


The garden may sit empty, but there's beauty on its own
a solitary thought may drink its peace,
it's in that very moment you'll acknowledge what you've known
the soul that's you will cry in sweet release.
