My Poetry
Nocturne
Chopin, fingered the ivory of our composition
haunting the lace of an ever open window
an incantation that quickened the night
as the wind swept and swirled like the raven's wing
grazing the swaying flesh of trees
a revenant augury of the howling season
in climbing tattoos of henna, that sang
in tempest tones and notes that chilled our bones
while umbra stalked the landscape of a satin draped storm
wet and rolling...
it licked like thunder, humid, in monsoon tongue
music to the long stemmed lily in crystal vase surrender
while the I of the storm...the blood of a bitch
was the ire that tore our sky apart

Wet by Rain
Small bare feet, traffic
to a lonely cobblestone
road, kissed wet by rain ~
perfect for searching puddles
and catching her reflection.
Non-participant, chained to
fear ~ blue eyed simile of
innocence, shining beneath
unruly thatching
Umber smudge baby,
will she bare teeth? No, her lips
draw closed, the curtain

Rebirth
a cocoon, of sorts
cold, their tendrils creep, and climb
twisted in form, and swollen with self,
the trinity of poisoned petals,
my screaming death
ecstasy has no home, in still bones,
from a distance, my words fall,
a barrier to his burning dysfunction
they rage for their release,
finally, I can bleed

"Happy" is a Puddle
Oft' I have wondered, of the comfort of shadows,
of how, I could be lulled in it's blush, yet,
it's touch upon my skin, still eludes me
…as if I could get that close…to anything
In the night's weeping, I would pray,
silent, but for the rain, lilting, in its refrain…
it fell, like falling stars, past the street lamp on the corner,
to my prayers, to my dreams, to me,
until we were drenched in the sacred.
Just a rain-child, born with Autumn in my veins,
a listener of winds tickling trees, a watcher
of colours bleeding out, topsy turvy, to the ground.
A runner, a jumper; connecting the dots of "happy" together,
chasing the giggles that escaped my mouth, knowing
that the worlds best kept secret, was
"happy" was a puddle with my name on it
Autumn flowed in evanescence, and my child world fell asleep, yet,
I smile in gratitude for the light that filtered through
a little box of songs, tucked, with love, behind my pillow,
opening the moon right up, to spill, and tumble
into my being, on the breath of each new day...
and now; tripping over innocence, I fall
headlong…into poetry
